Patient medical records
Journalservice provides access to patient medical records from Region Skåne and archived patient medical records from certain private healthcare providers in Skåne.
Order copies of medical records
You can order copies of medical records by logging in and using the e-services at 1177.se. You can also order over the phone by calling Journalservice or by sending your order to Journalservice by e-mail or post.

Information to include in your order
When ordering copies of medical records, you need to include the following information:
- First name and last name, as well as birth name.
- Personal identity number.
- Address and phone number.
- Healthcare provider (hospital, clinic or health centre).
- Treatment period, including year.
- Requested copies (for example, appointments, responses to referrals or vaccinations).
Patient medical records held in the Regional Archive
The Regional Archive has patient medical records from:
- Children's homes and foster homes.
- County health services and occupational health services.
- Private doctors and private clinics.
- Sanatoria and nursing homes.
- Hospitals.
- Health centres.
- Provincial doctors.
- Care homes and workhouses.
Patient medical record confidentiality
In principle, you always have the right to read your medical records. If your medical records include information about family members, you need their consent.
To access information in a family member's medical records, you need written consent from that family member.
Patient medical record confidentiality applies for 70 years.
