About regional development

The regional development assignment is a statutory core assignment. Our job is to coordinate development issues in Skåne and lead the work on the regional development strategy entitled “Open Skåne”. We work in partnership with many other stakeholders to bring about a Skåne offering successful companies, jobs, opportunities for education and training, improved infrastructure, regional physical planning, environment and better life and health.

Our aim is for all development work in Skåne to be done in manner that is socially, economically and environmentally sustainable in line with the UN’s 2030 Agenda.

We prioritise four areas for the development of a sustainable Skåne in order to help realise the regional “Open Skåne” development strategy.
